James Thornton

Senior Pastor

James Thornton, Jr. is the Senior Pastor of Believe Christian Church, known for his pastoral heart and prophetic discernment. With over 20 years of service in various ministerial roles, he is a graduate of The Gospel Lighthouse School of Ministry and has volunteered as a chaplain in the Franklin County Juvenile system. A certified fitness instructor, Pastor Thornton advocates for men's fellowship and daily prayer. As a Family Ambassador for the Columbus City Schools district, Pastor Thornton is a community advocate and event facilitator and serves on various boards including the T.U.R.N. Community Steering Committee and the Safe Haven Ministries, Inc. board. He and his wife, Pastor Tracy Thornton, are Breakthrough Biblical Counseling graduates and trained in Ministering Spiritual Gifts. Committed to evangelism, they inspire their family and others towards righteous living.
